maxSIMhealth forms an incredible ecosystem that lies in the conjunction of a myriad of professions and expertise areas, industry and end point users. Our mission is to discover existing simulation gaps and to revolutionize systems through innovative solutions in order to attain improved health care outcomes. Our unique ecosystem-oriented approach is characterized by the seamless integration of fundamental research laboratories, health professionals training facilities, entrepreneurship, and commercial partners. Until recently, the simulation sector (i.e., delivery of education and training using simulation as an educational platform) and the simulation research sector (i.e., evidence informed development of simulation technology and techniques) worked separately. Emerging technologies such as 3D printing, mixed reality, and serious gaming, bring new opportunities to close this gap. In this new view, both sectors can work together to create unique, theory and evidence supported, needs-driven simulation solutions. These cross-sectorial collaborations are effective in addressing the practice sector’s needs through research and innovation, and consequently shortening the “lab to market” pathway.
